Dr Khaled Nour
General Practitioner
Dr Khaled Nour is a specialist GP in addiction medicine who oversees the medical and clinical treatment of all clients at Next Step Recovery Australia. He plays a central role in developing individualised treatment plans, ensuring that each person’s recovery journey is medically safe, evidence-based, and aligned with their personal needs and goals.
Dr Nour manages detox protocols, medication-assisted treatments (such as Suboxone and Naltrexone), and the treatment of co-occurring health conditions. His comprehensive and structured approach ensures that every aspect of a client’s health is supported throughout recovery.
Respected for his calm and compassionate manner, Dr Nour is committed to helping clients stabilise physically, regain health, and build a strong foundation for lasting change.
Zameer Esmail
Psychologist
Zameer Esmail is a registered psychologist who focuses exclusively on the psychological dimensions of addiction. He works with clients to uncover and address the underlying drivers of substance use—such as trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, or identity challenges. Zameer uses structured therapeutic approaches like cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and relapse prevention strategies to support sustainable recovery.
With a calm and direct style, Zameer empowers clients to better understand their thinking and behaviour patterns. His sessions are focused, practical, and grounded in the belief that recovery is not only possible—but transformative.
Robert Maestracci
Life Coach
Robert Maestracci is an experienced Life Coach with an extensive background in community services, charitable initiatives and personal development work. He has spent many years supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds to build confidence, develop direction, and create meaningful, practical change in their lives.
With broad experience across community-based programs and outreach initiatives, Robert brings a strengths-focused and solutions-oriented approach to his coaching. He works closely with participants to clarify goals, strengthen accountability, improve decision-making skills, and build sustainable habits that support long-term stability and growth.
Robert’s background in charity and community service has given him a deep understanding of the social and personal challenges individuals may face. His coaching style combines encouragement with structure, helping participants move from insight to action while remaining supported throughout their journey.
Chelsea Wagner
Support Coordinator
Chelsea Wagner is a dedicated Support Coordinator with experience in mental health services and residential rehabilitation settings. She has worked closely with individuals navigating complex mental health challenges, substance use recovery, and community reintegration, providing practical support, structured guidance, and consistent case coordination.
Chelsea brings a strong understanding of recovery-oriented practice, risk awareness, and client-centred care. Her experience within residential rehabilitation environments has equipped her with the skills to support participants through structured programs, assist with goal planning, and coordinate services that promote stability and long-term wellbeing.
In her role as Support Coordinator, Chelsea works collaboratively with clients, families, and allied service providers to ensure each participant receives tailored support aligned with their treatment goals. She is committed to fostering accountability, empowerment, and sustainable recovery outcomes.
